“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.”
The little ones of DPS, Jaipur Nursery to II, celebrated the apex of their learning on the Culmination Day held on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The theme for the day was 'Mother Earth, Motherland and Me'.
The students showcased their learning outcomes through informative and fun-filled performances. The day began with the welcoming of the parents by the students followed by a dance celebrating God and nature , a poem recitation on love for the nation and a street play to create awareness to save water, trees, the Mother Earth.
The highlight of the day was when the Grade I and II students themselves took their parents through their culmination folder. Along with a PowerPoint presentation, they described their journey and the learning outcomes of academics, co-curricular and sports activities taken up throughout the session.
The teachers then shared with the parents little tips, gained through their experiences, on how to raise good and happy children.
The Culmination Ceremony not only provided a platform for students to exhibit their talent but most importantly encouraged them to think, to be independent, responsible and of course to believe in themselves and work hand in hand with their classmates. The activities having taken place in the classes itself brought the Child, the Parent and the Mentor closer together.
The Culmination Ceremony of Grade II was followed by the Citation Ceremony to recognize and appreciate the bright minds and young talents. The ceremony began with the lighting of the diyas, signifying that children, parents and teachers together have the responsibilty of carrying forward the light of knowledge. Each student of Grade II was felicitated with a citation, which was read by the Class Teacher. The citation certificate was presented to the little dipsites by the Principal Ms. Sangeeta Kain, the Headmistress Ms. Aradhna Kaul and the Headmaster Mr. Ravi Dutt.
The event was truly cherished and appreciated by the parents.
