Note for Parents

  1. No child is allowed to miss the regular classes to meet the parents or to go for an outing.
  2. Parents are allowed to meet the child or take the child for a night out only as per the schedule shared. 
  3. A child can be taken for an outing after school hours on weekdays only on his/her birthday. No outing is allowed on the birthday of cousins, siblings or parents.
  4. In case of any emergency or wedding in the family where a child has to miss the regular school, an application through email should be sent to the Dean of the Hostel and prior approval should be taken.
  5. In case a guardian/employee/driver is coming to pick the child up who is not listed and verified as local guardian with us, an authority letter should be sent separately to the Dean of the Hostels with proof of identity of the person coming to pick up your ward. This could be the photograph/DL no. /Company’s Identity Card/Voter ID. The child will not be sent with an unauthorized person unless this information regarding verification is received.
  6. No unescorted outing is allowed under any circumstance. 
  7. The parents should adhere to the check in and check out dates. It is not possible to entertain requests for early check out or late check.
  8. Pick up and drop facility to local airport/railway station/bus stop is available on payment basis. This can only be arranged if informed at least 07 days prior.
  9. Boarders are not allowed to check out on their own by taxi to board the train/bus until we receive a written consent from the parents taking the responsibility of the safety of the child.
  10. The parents should stay in touch with the house tutors to discuss the performance of their ward in school.
  11. To get feedback directly from teachers, parents must ensure that they attend at least one PTM in each break as mentioned in the calendar of the Boarding House.
  12. Frisking is carried out by Wardens once the students return from School outings to ensure no prohibited items are brought inside the Boarding House.
  13. Students are allowed to bring their cell phones to the Boarding House. These are deposited with the warden at the time of check–in. The phones are given to the students as per the block wise schedule.
  14. You can call the House Tutor of your ward between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. For any emergency, you may call the Dean of the Hostel or the Hostel Warden/House Tutor.
  15. It is advisable that parent should keep a balance of minimum ₹ 5000/- in the pocket money bank account of their ward.
  16. In house laundry facility is available twice a week. Services of barber & tailor are also available as per the requirement of students.
  17. Parents will have to pay compensation if their ward damages school /boarding property. The school will assess the amount. The Management will not be responsible for any accident caused to a student by his own act of negligence, carelessness or irresponsible behaviour.

18. In case of any contagious disease, child is immediately transferred to the isolation ward and parents are informed. Also, for further course of treatment parent’s consent is taken or the child is sent along with the parent for his/ her treatment.

  1. Parents are requested to submit complete details at the time of admission if a child has any allergy or uses specific medicine.
  2. All communication related to the hostel, be it consent, applications, etc., should be addressed to the Dean of the residential school and to be sent from the parent’s official email id registered with us.
  3. Money for personal expenses during a school outing can be withdrawn from the pocket money account through cheque which is to be submitted to the House Tutor two days prior to the date of the outing.
  4.  Medicine to be kept with the Resident Doctor only after approval by the Resident Doctor upon submission of the same from a registered medical practitioner.

 

We expect our Students to:

  1. Follow the daily routine of the hostel and school.
  2. Be kind & considerate to all juniors. Demonstrate respect for all and be courteous towards teachers, resident staff and fellow boarders. Do not disparage or embarrass others in the school or hostel.
  3. Have exemplary conduct and adherence to instructions is expected from students during the outings.
  4. Wake up on time at the reveille. Be punctual and regular for morning PT, classes, Extra classes, roll calls, evening games, activities meals and for any other organized activity.
  5. Attend meals in appropriate attire and shoes. Bathroom slippers are not allowed in the mess. Observe mess manners, decorum & etiquettes.
  6. Follow the rules of personal health and hygiene.
  7. Converse in English among each other as this will help to develop confidence in this link language which is also their medium of instruction.
  8. Always be cheerful, attentive dignified and smart.
  9. Attend all academic as well as any other organized activity organized for boarders.
  10. Comply with duty assigned.
  11. Be forthcoming in sharing/informing the offences /inappropriate harmful action committed by others. 
  12. Be in a proper uniform and adhere to the prescribed dress code as per rules.
  13. Have respect for School property and equipment. Do not damage it and prevent others also from doing so.
  14. Leave and return to the school at the appointed date and time while returning from outings and term breaks.
  15. Keep the hostel room neat and tidy. Stack clothes and arrange wardrobes properly. 

Study tables should be neat and the books must be stacked neatly.

  1. Adhere to the sleep and wake up time schedule.
  2. Switch off lights and fans when not in use.
  3. Observe etiquette, table manners while dining and must not waste food.
  4. Must maintain proper layout of his/her bed, cupboard and surrounding area. Cupboard, books, shoes are to be arranged neatly and things to be kept at their proper place.
  5. Exhibit exemplary conduct and adherence to instructions during the outings.
  6. You can withdraw money only through a cheque duly approved by the warden.
  7. Not to commit an act of violence such as kick, hit or punch any other student /person or damage the school property.
  8. Not to sell, use or possess objectionable material or consume or be under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances, smoke a cigarette, e-cigarette or possess or use smokeless tobacco, pan masala or any such substance either on the school campus or during any school activity.
  9. Not litter the campus or the hostel rooms.
  10. Not run in the corridors and dining hall or disturb others.
  11. Not gamble in any form or manner.
  12. Not harass, intimidate, bully, ridicule or demean or threaten others in any form of action that may put an individual in fear of bodily harm.
  13. Not bully/rag/manhandle other students. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Any student found indulging in such activities is likely to be punished. The punishment includes expulsion/ suspension from the classes as well as from the school.
  14. Not bully others on social media. Cyber bullying of any kind is unacceptable.
  15. Not discriminate, which may include the use of religion, race, colour, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, economic status or disability as a basis for treating another in a prejudiced manner.
  16. Not carry an object that, in the judgment of the administration, disrupts or interferes with the education process or endangers the health, welfare or safety of students or staff.
  17. Not carry any cash or valuable items such as expensive jewellery, wrist watches, gadgets or any unauthorized item not permitted by the school/ hostel administration.
  18. Not carry any form of tuck, eatables, medicines, tonics, drugs and pharmaceuticals without the written approval of the warden.
  19. Not keep electric kettle, heater, iron or any other electric equipment.
  20. Not possess CD player, cameras, PSPs, speakers and mobile phones. Only a mobile phone should be submitted to the Warden at the time of reporting in the hostel and can be taken at the scheduled time.
  21. Don't be in possession of any other items as per the given list. Any extra item, other than those specified in the hostel kit list will be confiscated.
  22. Not indulge in any other behaviour or conduct which is considered inappropriate.
  23. Students shall not drive any pegs or nails into walls or stick posters on walls, windows and doors.
  24. Students to keep their room, verandah and surrounding areas tidy, neat and clean at all times and shall not throw anything including rubbish, in such places or any premises in the hostel except in the dustbin or the place specifically provided for the said purpose. Not to dry wet clothes on the furniture or in corridors/ balconies.
  25. Follow COVID-19 guidelines issued by Govt. / SOPs of school strictly regarding wearing mask, social distancing etc. in mess and hostel corridors as per govt. regulations
  26. Not damage any school property. Careless or intentional breakage or damage of the hostel/ school property is liable to penalty.
  27. Use mobiles only on prescribed day and for a specific time period to communicate with parents as per norms.
  28. Birthdays to be celebrated as per prior permission and under supervision. We celebrate birthdays in school and a cake can be arranged with notice that is baked by the tuck in, 7 days prior on payment.

 

Rules are for Keeps

A hostel discipline committee to be formed including the Dean, Tutor, Warden and a boarder from each hostel. The following disciplinary measures are adopted to enforce adherence to the rules and discipline:

  1. Counselling by Warden, House Tutor, Dean or the School Counsellor.
  2. Written warning in the form of issuing of disciplinary cards as per the school rules.
  3. Cancellation of outings, games time and mobiles.
  4. Detention/confiscation of prohibited device.
  5. Information/ calling to parents.
  6. Suspension, rustication and expulsion as per the rules. 
  7. Parents will have to pay compensation if their ward damages school/ hostel property.
  8. Students shall be required to pay double the original cost of any item found missing from their room.  
  9. Students shall also be required to pay twice the charges of repair to items that are found to have been wilfully damaged or have been damaged on account of misuse or unfair wear and tear.
  10. Students shall not interchange any furniture/ fixture from one point/location in the hostel to another. Besides a penal recovery, students involved in such activities shall have to pay for the damage caused and it may call upon suspension from the hostel, if the same is ever repeated the next time.
  11. Theft/damages to hostel assets in common areas/corridors shall be recovered from all students of the wing in case of theft/damage to items that pertain to usage by the complete hostel, the recoveries shall be made from all the occupants of the hostel.
  12. Students shall not bring, take and/or drink any alcohol/ intoxicating drink, drug or substance of any kind what so ever and/or smoke in the room and/or any part of premises. An occurrence of such behaviour shall invite strict disciplinary action leading to rustication from the school.
  13. Outside food is not allowed in the hostel premises. If a child is found bringing/ consuming the food brought from outside disciplinary action will be taken in accordance this is to maintain good health of the child.

 

SoP for the Dining Hall

  1. All the meals are taken in the School Mess under the supervision of Wardens and House Tutors.
  2. The menu is prepared after taking the inputs from the food committee which includes the F&B Manager, the Principal, the Dean, a representative body of resident staff and 6 students (3 girls and 3 boys). 
  3. The committee to take feedback from all the students and review the type & quality of food. It should give suggestions for improvement.

 

Etiquette's/expectations in the dining hall:

  1. Grace the food before you start eating.
  2. Wash your hands before eating.
  3. Take what you can eat.
  4. Eat with your mouth closed.
  5. Eat slowly and quietly.
  6. Don't slurp food or drinks.
  7. Keep elbows and other body parts off the table while eating.
  8. Wipe your mouth with a napkin or handkerchief.
  9. Don't waste food.
  10. Be courteous with service providers at all times.

 

 

SOP for Outings/Leave

 

  1. Parents are not allowed to meet their wards without the prior consent of the Principal. They must seek approval about their arrival and leave/outing in advance through the email and only visit upon receiving a confirmation mail from the Dean on deanhostel@dpsjaipur.com.
  2. Gate pass for the outing (day/ night) will be issued by the Hostel Dean. The Principal reserves the right to disallow any request which is found in contradiction of the rules and regulations that govern the hostel.
  3. The child on outing must report back to the hostel before 6 pm on the reporting day.
  4. If parents are unable to come and take their child, authorized local guardian only will be permitted to take the ward on behalf of the parents. Parents must inform in writing for the same, giving the details of the local guardian at the email of the Dean. They must await approval before proceeding further on it.
  5. The parents must visit only on the authorized days to meet their wards.
  6. Outings are permitted as per the schedule attached.

 

Note: The above is to be strictly adhered to in accordance with the policies of the hostel. You must allow your child the time to adjust in the hostel. In case you visit them frequently on days other than given in the Break check in and check out schedule that may lead to the child being unable to adjust with the conducive environment of the boarding life.
